Fullers: March Update
We have been silent for the last few months. We apologize for this and have now solved some internet issues. Let us now catch you up on what has been happening in our lives and ministry.
The last time many of you heard from us, we were on our way to Zambia to visit our family there. We had a good time and were able to go on a camping trip and spend a lot of time with our 2 grandchildren while there. Just 2 days before our scheduled return to Kenya, we got word from family that Jenny’s mother was in a serious condition, getting weak and in a lot of pain. Jenny and our son Brad were able to fly home the next day and Tony also flew home from Kenya. They were so blessed to be able to get home before Jenny’s mother died. Jenny spent 3 weeks in the United States with family and friends and returned to Kenya just after Thanksgiving. In the meantime, I returned to Kenya and spend most of November and December developing a plot of land that was purchased by the Africa Gospel Church Baby Center. This included supervising a well being drilled and getting electricity run to the plot to power the pump for the water. We were successful in getting a wonderful supply of water and electricity in a short period of time.
We were blessed to be able to spend the Christmas holidays with our son and family at Olderkesi. There was a family team there also, from Montana. It was wonderful to have 31 people for Christmas dinner and to celebrate Christ’s birth.
In January we celebrated 25 years of ministry in Kenya and 40 years of marriage! We were able to go on a short trip to the coast during this time. From January up to now, Jenny has continued helping out at the Treasurer’s office as needed along with hostessing and office work. I have continued helping the Baby Center develop a water system that consists of drip irrigation on 2 acres of land and 2 large water tanks so the tanker that hauls water to the Baby Center can be filled easily. I also built a house to be used for administrative purposes and storage of tools. I found a truck for the Baby Center to purchase to be used for hauling the water to the Baby Center. It is being modified by fitting a tank on the back that will hold 7000 liters of water. I am also still helping to complete the church at the mission’s plot that was started by a work team last October. With a donation from the Africa Gospel Church, I plan to finish the work on the office building for the mission’s plot. I still need some funds to help complete this project, if you are able to assist in this, it would be greatly appreciated. The account number for this project is 125-21196. I need to raise an additional $10,00.00 to complete this project.
In the coming months, we have many activities planned. We always look forward to our Kenya retreat time in April when all WGM missionaries get together for a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship.
In Isaiah 40:29-31 we read, “He gives strength to the weary and to him who lacks might, He increases power. Though youth grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” (New American Standard)
In our ministry this term, we have been eagerly waiting on the Lord. Although we have been very busy and many wonderful things have been accomplished, we feel that God is leading us into a different type ministry. Last February we went to Zambia and conducted a survey and found that there are many needy areas of ministry that can be done there. In the last couple of months, we have been asked to consider and pray about Zambia as a mission field. Through prayer and sharing with others, we have been introduced to 2 ministries that we want to learn more about. We plan to spend the month of May in Zambia and seek earnestly where God is leading us. Pray for us as we travel and seek to learn all we can about God’s work in Zambia.
In June and July we have 2 teams coming, one team is a family of 4 and one team is from a supporting church. Each team will have a work project and some time to see other ministries while here.
In early August, we plan to be in the United States for a short 6 months Home Ministry Assignment. We hope to see many of you during this time. If you would like to see us or have us speak or share, please contact us at this email address.
We would like to share some prayer requests:
- Pray for God’s guidance in all our endeavors
- Pray for funds in order to complete and carry out our final projects
- Pray for rain for Kenya, the country is in the midst of a terrible drought
- Pray for the economy as it has affected so many areas of the mission and ministries
